How to package car parts for shipping
Our parcels go through many stages of transit, and with car parts being quite fragile, we’ll need your help to make sure that we can deliver your package in the same condition that you left it in. Tyres are far more robust in nature; designed to carry vehicles over rough terrain, it’s unlikely that a conveyor belt or the back of a van will result in any damage, however there are still factors that need to be considered for the ease of the courier.
Wrap your parcel safely and securely
To ensure that your parcel reaches its destination safely, make sure that the item is completely wrapped, and any empty space in the box is filled with bubble wrap or newspaper.
Find an appropriate box for your item
Place the item inside a sturdy box, ideally recycled, read more on sustainable packaging here. For larger items, the box shouldn’t be much larger than the item itself, as we want to make sure that it fits within Evri’s size limit.
Place contact information within the parcel for assurance
In the event that the address label on the outside of the box is lost or damaged, place a piece of paper with your name, address and phone number, as well as the name and address of the parcels destination so we can complete the parcels journey under any circumstances.
Fasten the box thoroughly
Finally, fasten the box with an adequate amount of tape, making sure that no openings are left uncovered, and the tape runs around all of the cardboard flaps and edges. For added security, choose a more durable tape when packaging your car parts.
What car parts can’t you send with Evri
Unfortunately, some car parts do fall under Evri restrictions when it comes to prohibited items and non-compensation items. These are as follows:
Vehicle parts containing liquids, such as car batteries, along with items weighing over 15kg or exceeding our maximum dimension limits, are prohibited from transit with Evri couriers.
Liquids under 1000ml are allowed for transport, but oil is prohibited. This includes engine oil, transmission fluid, and many types of brake fluid, which are not permitted for transit with Evri couriers.
Vehicle lights and lightbulbs are unable to be covered by our compensation, but can still be sent with a courier.
