How do I send a gift internationally?
If you’ve already got your gift wrapped and ready, just follow these simple steps to get your parcel on its way:
1. Fill in the basic information
In order for us to deliver your parcel, we need to know where it’s going, where to pick it up, how big it is, and how much it weighs, so be sure to fill in all these details correctly to avoid delays on its international journey.
2. Choose your send option
Whether that’s via ParcelShop, Locker, or Courier Collection, we’ll need to know how you’ll be sending your parcel to get the right price.
3. Fill in your parcel’s details
Let us know what’s in your parcel, its value, where it’s going, and who it’s going to. You will also be asked if you want to add additional cover up to £999 for complete protection of the contents of your parcel*.
4. Complete customs information
Part of shipping with Evri is that we take care of all of the customs forms for you. We simply ask you declare a few details such as the reason for sending, and some additional info on the contents. It’s important that all of this information is correct to ensure that it clears customs correctly. In the unlikely event of an issue however, we do ask for an email and phone number from your recipient to contact them and get their parcel delivered.
5. The finishing touches
With all the necessary details entered, you can pay for your parcel and print off its delivery label at home or in-store at one of our ParcelShops.
Great gift ideas for sending in the post
Whether you know someone who has emigrated and misses home, or you’re a modern-day Magellan wanting to share a taste of the UK, choosing a gift that’s native to this country will make your gesture truly unique and memorable. Here are just a few ideas for what you could send internationally with Evri:
Local souvenirs, knick-knacks, trinkets, tchotchkes
The UK's rich iconography offers endless choices, and for those who prefer something functional or simply fantastical, there’s plenty to find in any souvenir shop. Some fun gift ideas to look out for might be mugs or teapots, miniatures, framed prints or photographs, a cuddly Paddington Bear, or some classic royal merchandise.
Clothes and accessories
The UK streetwear and vintage clothes market continues to distinguish itself greatly across the world, so a well-picked bit of fashion could make for a very chic gift for your overseas compadre. Clothes and accessories like shoes and jewellery are also relatively lightweight and simple to package compared to other more fragile contents.
Journals, calendars, diaries
One of the best gifts you can deliver to someone, is a gift that they are going to carry with them everywhere. The UK has a vast selection of native bookstores and craft shops that will potentially hold the perfect canvas for all of your friend or loved one’s thoughts, plans and memories. You can even open it up before packaging and put a personalised message in the front that will always remind them of you.

Packaging your gift for international transit
When sending a gift abroad, an important thing to consider when packaging it up is the customs process. Particularly for more expensive items, the customs team could open your parcel to inspect the contents before approving it for delivery, wrapping paper notwithstanding. To ensure that your gift remains a mystery and maintains the excitement when opening the parcel, we would advise using gift bags over wrapping paper. This way the agent can simply remove your gift from the bag to complete their inspection, then return it to how it was before repackaging it for its final destination.
