UK business or marketplace seller?
If you’re an online seller sending goods up to the value of €150 and to a destination within the EU, you might want to use Import One Stop Shop (IOSS). IOSS deals with VAT charges at the point of sale. So, as well as making life simpler for you, it also benefits your recipient - there’ll be no surprise costs for your customer when they receive their goods. Check out our guide on sending parcels to Europe to find out more about IOSS.
If you haven’t sold through a marketplace or if your parcel destination is outside the EU, remember to let your recipient know they may need to pay customs charges.
International standard delivery service
If you're using our international standard delivery service, your recipient may need to pay taxes and duties either before your items leave the UK or when the parcel reaches its destination.
If customs charges are applicable, Evri or the relevant authorities will contact your recipient with a secure payment link to clear customs before they can receive their items.
