Evri and The Times of London Announce Partnership to Add Web Content Browsing and Discovery Functionality to Times Online Articles Evri’s Content Recommendation Application to appear on Politics and Arts & Entertainment Stories
SEATTLE, Washington, March 18 Evri (www.evri.com), a technology company focused on helping people discover and engage with Web content, and The Times of London today announced a partnership to add Evri’s content recommendation engine on articles on the Times Online, one of the UK’s leading quality newspaper sites. The Evri application will launch on March 18 with the goal of helping Times Online’s tens of millions of readers to discover additional related content from the newspaper and from selected websites across the Web.
Within the Times Online (www.timesonline.co.uk), the Evri Content Recommendation Application will appear in the column adjacent to articles and suggest additional relevant content to readers. Those recommendations will be based on Evri’s semantic understanding of how the people, places and things in the current article being read are connected to other people, places and things being discussed on the Web. Evri’s application allows readers to select content from the Times alone or related content from selected websites across the Web. Initially, the Evri application will appear on all Politics and Arts & Entertainment articles on the Times Online. The Evri application will also include links to relevant Evri Profile Pages, dynamic compilations of all the content—text, images and videos—Evri finds about a specific person, place or thing. Evri currently has amassed Profile Pages for more than 3 million entities, with more entities added every day.
“We are very excited to work with the Times, and to offer the Evri Content Recommendation Application to Times Online readers,” said Neil Roseman, Evri’s CEO. “The Evri application will create much richer content engagement experience for Times readers and increase the length of each session they spend browsing content and reading news on the Times Online.”
“Evri’s technology is a very compelling way for the Times to further engage with readers and help them deepen their understanding of the world, two objectives to which we are committed,” said George Brock, International Editor of the Times. “We are pleased to partner with Evri to enhance our delivery of news and information online.”
