She is a well-respected, influential and iconic personality amongst the Chinese-speaking communities. She has been nicknamed "The Big Sister" in the HK entertainment circle. Wang was formerly a delegate in the National People's Congress from 1988 to 1997, she is currently a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
