Jon Gosselin is an American television personality and the father of the Gosselin twins and sextuplets with his wife Kate from Jon & Kate Plus 8. Gosselin married Kate Kreider in 2000. Jon and Kate welcomed twins, Cara and Maddelyn ("Mady") on 8 October 2001.
Initially, Gosselin was against having a third child, but he and Kate eventually decided to try to get pregnant again. On 10 May 2004, Kate gave birth to sextuplets, which led to TLC offering the couple a reality series chronicling the lives of their family. Gosselin has coauthored the book Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets, with his wife and Beth Carson. After its release, the book spent time on the New York Times Best Seller list.
It was announced on the 22 June 2009 episode of the show that the couple were going to separate.
