She was the picture of propriety, with a dose of chic. The only fly in the ointment was a rather revealing photograph of Miss Bruni from 1993, which Christie's, timing impeccable, chose to release hours before the couple touched down on British soil. So Miss Bruni weathered her first official trip abroad fairly well, but judging by the circumstances which led up to the couple's first meeting with the 52-year-old president, her transformation into a fully-fledged first lady might not be so easy.
