Gilles Simon (born December 27, 1984) is a French professional tennis player. He claimed his first ATP Tour title at the 2007 Marseille Open 5 years after turning pro. He has won five ATP tournaments to date.
Simon's profile has increased considerably in the last year after high-profile victories over top players Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in big tournaments. His coach is French tennis veteran Thierry Tulasne. He is currently the French No. 1 and the No. 7 player in the world.
