Courtney Lawes (born 23 February 1989 in Northampton, UK) is a professional rugby player in England for Northampton Saints. He is also an England under 20s player.
Courtney is a versatile player, equally at home in the second and back rows, he is the very epitome of the modern rugby forward. More akin to a basketball player thanks to an athletic 6'7", 104kg frame, Courtney is also a true local Northampton boy, raised within a stone\'s throw from Franklin's Gardens, Courtney is another member of the Saints Academy to come from the Old Scouts and has received England representative honours for the U18 and U20 sides.
He toured Australia with England Under 18s in 2007 and made his Saints first team debut against Esher in National One in the 2007-08 season. He missed out on the 2008 U20s Six Nations through injury.
This season (2008-09) he has played in both the EDF Cup and the ECC Tournament.
