Balbina Herrera is a Panamanian politician. She served as Minister of Housing in the Cabinet of President Martin Torrijos, and she is currently running for President of Panama as the candidate of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) in the election to be held on May 3, 2009. Although known in Panama as being a former ally and supporter of Manuel Noriega, she won her party's primary on September 7, 2008 with 49% of the vote, defeating Panama City Mayor Juan Carlos Navarro. If elected, she will be Panama's second female president.
