Al "Bubba" Baker (born December 9, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida) is a former professional American football defensive lineman in the NFL. He went to three Pro Bowls during his career. He was named 1978 Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Baker, a graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark, New Jersey and Colorado State University, was drafted in the second round of the 1978 draft. A massive 6-6, 250 pound frame with extraordinary speed and strength. Opened his NFL career with an incredible 23 sacks (unofficial stat at that time). He was named Defensive Rookie of the year and was selected to three Pro Bowls in five-year career.
Today, Bubba Baker co-owns and operates Bubba's Q, a barbecue restaurant and catering business located in Avon, Ohio. The restaurant, which opened in 2005, has already won several Cleveland-area awards for its food.
