More on Namco
Description from Wikipedia:
Namco Ltd., from NAkamura Manufacturing COrporation, is a Japanese corporation best known as a video game developer and publisher. The company is most famous for creating Pac-Man, the best-selling arcade game in history.
Namco adapted its business to home consoles as that market began to overtake arcades. It opened regional subsidiaries such as Namco Hometek, its American office, to develop games targeted at Western audiences.
On September 29 2005, Namco merged with Japanese toymaker Bandai to form Namco Bandai Holdings, creating one of the largest entertainment companies in Japan.
Under the holding company, on March 31 2006, Namco's game development operations merged with Bandai's video game division to form Namco Bandai Games. The Namco Ltd. name was transferred to the Amusement Facility SBU, and currently represents Namco's chain of company-owned arcades in Japan.
