Le Mans UC72 is a French football club, based in Le Mans. It was founded in 1985, having gone under its full name of Le Mans Union Club 72 since their foundation in 1902. Yves Bertucci succeeds Rudi Garcia, as manager of the MUC 72 in June 2008. The club gained its first historical promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2003-04 season, but was quickly relegated. However, they fought back and in 2005 won another promotion. Since then they have no problems with retaining their top flight place. After finishing 11th and 12th in 2006 and 2007, respectively, they finished 9th in 2008, the best result in club history. They play their home games in Stade Omnisports Léon Bollée.
