The Celtic Tenors debuted as the Three Irish Tenors on RTE's Theatre Nights on October 1995. The group at that time consisted of James Nelson, Niall Morris and Paul Hennessey.
In 2000, Matthew Gilsenan replaced Paul Henessey and the Celtic Tenors were formed. Singing a mixture of Celtic, Operatic and re-worked popular songs, the group have had significant success particularly in the USA.
More recently, Niall Morris has bowed out of the group and a young tenor from Omagh in Northern Ireland - Daryl Simpson - has stepped into the group. The Celtic Tenors have never been as busy as they are now, touring all over North America, Europe and at home in Ireland.
Having released four chart-topping albums on the EMI, Telarc and Dara labels, the Celtic Tenors, amidst a very hectic touring schedule, are at present preparing another new album.
