Description from Wikipedia:
Taichung () is a city located in west-central Taiwan with a population of just over one million people, making it the third largest city on the island after Taipei and Kaohsiung. The city presently constitutes a provincial city apart from the adjacent Taichung County. By the end of 2010 the city and county, both currently first-level divisions of Taiwan Province, will merge to form a single direct-controlled municipality. The name Taichung means "Central Taiwan."
