More on China Open
Description from Wikipedia:
The China Open (formerly the Beijing Salem Open) is a professional tennis tournament in Beijing, China. It was first held in 1993. In 1998 it was removed from the tour calendar but was reinstated in 2004. Since 2005 it has been included in the schedule of both the ATP Tour and the WTA Tour. The 2008 event will take place from September 20 to September 28.
It was first held in 1993, a year in which the Qatar Open and Dubai Tennis Championships were also introduced to the tour, as the ATP opened a series of new tournaments in Asia.
In 2006, it was the first tournament outside the USA to utilize the Hawk-Eye system.
Michael Chang is the only man to have won the singles competition more than once, holding the record for both total and consecutive wins with three titles.
