  • Agreement from GMB members would see a guaranteed Minimum Equivalent Hourly Rate of £15 nationally and £15.80 in London – this rate is a minimum earnings guarantee, not a maximum earnings cap and is significantly above the National Living Wage
  • Up to 6 additional holiday days – with one to be used for MOT and servicing
  • One-off payments linked to the agreement of up to £1,25
  • Evri prepares to recruit a further 7,000 couriers ahead of peak trading

18th September 2026: Evri and GMB are pleased to have worked closely throughout a positive process, to reach a landmark agreement that the union is recommending to members for acceptance, delivering improved earnings, enhanced benefits and greater certainty for thousands of self-employed couriers across the UK.

This landmark agreement represents a significant milestone for both Evri and the GMB. It is the first-ever two-year agreement in Evri history, covering the period from 9 June 2025 to 8 June 2027 and builds on the long-standing partnership between Evri and GMB.

The agreement delivers a comprehensive package of improvements, including increased minimum earnings, enhanced holiday entitlement, strengthened earnings protections, additional one-off payments, greater earning transparency, and new commitments to jointly review key aspects of the courier pay and expenses model.

The deal includes:

  • A guaranteed minimum equivalent hourly rate of £15 nationally and £15.80 in London for eligible couriers.
  • Enhanced protection of existing earnings and rates through to April 2028 for eligible couriers.
  • Improved holiday benefits for eligible Evri Plus couriers. A regular courier will get an additional 3 to 6 days, one of which is to be used for MOT and servicing.
  • One-off payments linked to the agreement of up to £1,250
  • More opportunities for couriers to join the Evri Plus programme.

The agreement follows extensive discussions between Evri and GMB, with both parties focused on recognising the vital role couriers play in serving communities and customers across the UK.

The two-year deal represents a significant multi-million-pound investment in courier pay, benefits and protections, and provides the longest period of certainty ever agreed for self-employed couriers at Evri and establishes a framework for ongoing collaboration on pay, benefits and working arrangements.

The agreement comes as Evri prepares to recruit a further 7,000 self-employed couriers across the UK ahead of peak trading and to support the continued growth of its parcel network. The enhanced package of earnings, benefits and protections reinforces Evri's commitment to making courier opportunities attractive, flexible and rewarding, while helping ensure communities across the UK continue to receive a high-quality delivery service.

This agreement reflects a shared commitment to protecting and improving courier earnings while delivering greater certainty through the first two-year deal in our history.  We are proud to have reached a deal that delivers increased earnings opportunities, enhanced benefits, and strengthened earnings protections. Community couriers play a vital role in our success, and we believe this offer represents a fair, competitive and sustainable package that recognises their contribution while supporting the continued growth of our business. Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to continue listening to couriers and strengthening trust as we work together to create a stronger and more sustainable future.

We have secured a strong and significant deal that not only provides earnings well above the National Minimum Wage equivalent but also protects existing earnings  - and creates opportunities for future growth. This agreement is an important milestone and shows what can be achieved through meaningful dialogue and collective bargaining. Evri should be congratulated for listening and engaging with couriers and GMB reps throughout the process. There is always more work to do, but we believe this agreement delivers genuine improvements for members and reflects our shared commitment to building a fairer, stronger, and more secure future for Evri couriers.
