BRITS WARNED: don’t let your holiday parcels pile up – Evri reveals simple fix

Customer is walking away from a ParcelShop, holding their collected parcel in one hand and a store-bought cup of coffee in the other hand.
  • Evri encourages holiday makers to divert their deliveries to avoid doorstep drama
  • Parcels can be held for 10 days, at no extra charge, in one of Evri’s ParcelShops
  • Advice from Evri reveals simple fix to take control and choose how to get your parcel, whilst you’re away
  • Part of Evri’s long-term commitment to helping customers access every parcel every way

27th July 2026: Brits heading off on holiday this summer are being warned not to let deliveries pile up at home - with parcels clogging up neighbours’ hallways or getting damp in a shed while they’re away.

Parcel delivery company Evri is urging customers to take advantage of simple delivery options that give them more choice and control when they’re not home.

The easiest way to avoid missed deliveries is for consumers to simply divert their parcel to a local ParcelShop or locker.

  • ParcelShops will hold a parcel securely for ten days, with no extra charge – perfect if someone is away for a week or longer
  • Lockers hold parcels for three days, but offer extra flexibility – including the option to share the collection QR code with someone they trust, so they can collect it on their behalf – perfect if someone is away for longer than ten days

With more than 12,500 locations nationwide, it’s easy to pick a convenient spot near home, or even on the way back from the airport. By choosing an alternative delivery option, customers can head off on holiday knowing their parcels are safe, secure and waiting for them – without relying on neighbours or worrying about items being left in a safe place.

When setting a diversion or preference, customers will also see other options available including:

  1. Deliver directly to a secure locker – available 24/7 and ideal if you won’t be home
  2. Use real-time diversions to reroute an out-for-delivery parcel
  3. Nominate a safe place such as a shed, porch or garage
  4. Add accessibility preferences such as requesting more time to get to the door

No one wants to come back from holiday to find they've had to rely on neighbours for weeks. The good news is that avoiding missed deliveries is easier than many people realise. Customers can divert parcels to a local ParcelShop or locker in just a few taps, giving them greater control and peace of mind while they're away. At Evri, we're focused on making deliveries fit around real life and how people live today, providing more choice and flexibility so customers can receive every parcel, every way

We spend so much time planning our holidays that it's easy to forget about deliveries that might arrive while we're away. I'm pleased to see Evri encouraging customers to make use of the delivery options available before they travel. Taking just a couple of minutes to update your delivery preferences could make all the difference, leaving you free to relax and enjoy your holiday with greater peace of mind.
