The Last Station is an upcoming German biographical film about Leo Tolstoy, based on a 1990 biographical novel of the same name by Jay Parini. It stars Christopher Plummer as Tolstoy.
It premiered at the 2009 Telluride Film Festival.
Sony Pictures Classics acquired distribution rights and plans to give the film an awards-qualifying limited run on December 23, 2009, with a wider release in early 2010.
It is also scheduled to be released in Germany on January 21, 2010.
