Amelia is an upcoming 2009 biographical film based on the life of Amelia Earhart, starring Hilary Swank as Earhart along with a cast that includes Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, and Virginia Madsen. It is directed by Mira Nair based on a script written by Ronald Bass. Bass wrote the script using several books on Earhart as sources including Susan Butler's book East to the Dawn, Mary Lovell's The Sound of the Wings and Elgin Long's Amelia Earhart: The Mystery Solved.
