More on Sheryl Sandberg
Description from Wikipedia:
Sheryl Sandberg is the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook Inc. Before that she served as Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google. She is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School. She is married to David Goldberg, a venture capitalist with Benchmark Capital.
After graduating from Harvard College in 1991, she worked under Lawrence Summers, who was her senior thesis adviser in college, at the World Bank. She later earned her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1995 and worked at McKinsey & Co. as a management consultant. Sandberg then served as chief of staff to Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence Summers from 1999 to 2001. Turning down several investment bank offers, she joined Google when George W. Bush came into office and both Summers and his team left the Treasury.
While at Google, Sandberg led many of Google's advertising products, including Google AdWords.
She also served on the board of Google's philanthropic division, google.org, whose stated goal is providing sustainable solutions to the problems of poverty, energy and the environment.
Sandberg also serves in the board of directors of eHealthInsurance.
She was included in Fortune's 50 Most Powerful Women of 2007 and, at the age of 38, had the distinction of being the youngest on the list.
In March 2008 she left Google Inc. to become Facebook Inc.'s COO, replacing Owen Van Natta.
