Richard Lawrence "Dick" Saslaw (born February 5, 1940) is a Democratic member of the Senate of Virginia, representing the 35th District since 1980 and serving as the Minority Leader since 1998. His district includes part of the city of Alexandria as well as parts of Fairfax County, Annandale and Springfield.
Saslaw served as Senate Democratic Minority Leader from 1996 through 2007, and was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1976 through 1980. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.
