Reihan Morshed Salam is a Bangladeshi American journalist. He is an associate editor at The Atlantic and a fellow at the New America Foundation. He has written for numerous publications, including the National Review, Slate, The Spectator, The Weekly Standard, and The New York Sun. He previously worked as a producer for NBC News, a junior editor at The New York Times, and a reporter for The New Republic. He co-authored Grand New Party: How Republicans Can Win the Working Class and Save the American Dream with Ross Douthat and blogs regularly at The American Scene. He attended Stuyvesant High School (where he was head of the debate team) and Harvard University.
