José Manuel Zelaya Rosales (born September 20, 1952) was the President of Honduras from January 27, 2006 to June 28, 2009. A son of a wealthy businessman, he finished high school but did not finish college. He inherited his father's nickname "Mel." Zelaya was involved in his ranch, logging and timber trade businesses. During his presidency, Zelaya lost the support of much of his own party. He currently has an arrest warrant in Honduras.
