Kurt Gidley (born 7 June 1982, Newcastle, Australia) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays for and captains the Newcastle Knights as well as captaining New South Wales. He primarily plays at fullback but has had success playing at halfback, five eighth and hooker. He is the younger brother of Matthew Gidley, who used to play for the Newcastle Knights but now plays with St Helens in the Super League. Gidley is known for his immense workload in games, his versatility and as one of the game's fittest players.
