Joseph Akpala (born August 24, 1986 in Jos, Northern Nigeria) is a Nigerian footballer.
Akpala is a product of the Pepsi Football Academy in Lagos. His first Professional contract was with Bendel United Football Club - a Division One club in Benin City in April 2003.
He later joined Bendel Insurance FC, Benin City in the premier Division of the Nigerian Professional League, in February 2005. He was to finish as joint top scorer with 13 goals in 19 games.
His scintillating performance in his first season of the Nigerian Premier League, earned him a call up to the senior National team - the Super Eagles in August 2005. He scored on his debut on the 30/12/05 in a friendly Match in Portugal.
He was signed by the Royal Charleroi Sporting Club in the Belgian Jupiler League in January 2006. He wears the no 27 jersey.
Joseph has settled into RCSC and has had very successful campaign in the 2007/08 Belgian League campaign. He topped the scorers chart with 18 goals. He has been called in to the Super eagles again for the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers.
