NASCAR also accused Mayfield of lying when he told the court he was instructed to return to his home at 5 p.m., where he waited almost three hours for NASCAR representatives to collect a sample."This account is contradicted by Mayfield's counsel, who claimed that at 5:32 p.m., Mayfield was still driving around Concord, looking for the testing location,"

More on Jeremy Mayfield
Description from Wikipedia:
Jeremy Allen Mayfield (born May 27, 1969 in Owensboro, Kentucky) was a NASCAR driver. Mayfield drove the #41 All Sport Toyota Camry in the Sprint Cup Series for his own team, Mayfield Motorsports. He is married to his second wife, Shana, and they own three bulldogs and two pugs. Currently he and his team are unsponsored. Jeremy has run paint schemes for sponsors Big Red soda and SmallSponsor.com. From May 9 until July 1 Mayfield was suspended as both owner and driver by NASCAR following what NASCAR said was a positive test for methamphetamine. A federal judge weighing the respective harms and evidence lifted the suspension temporarily on July 1, 2009. On July 15, 2009, it was revealed by NASCAR that Mayfield again tested positive for the second time of using methamphetamine. He allegedly failed a random drug test on July 6.
