White Lies is an alternative post-punk indie band based in London, England. They formed following the break-up of fellow London indie band Fear of Flying. The band members consist of Harry McVeigh, Charles Cave, and Jack Lawrence-Brown. Their style has been compared to Editors, Joy Division, Interpol, The Killers, Echo & The Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes. McVeigh's singing voice has been compared to that of Ian Curtis.
They made their television debut on Later... with Jools Holland in May 2008 playing single "Unfinished Business", as well as future single "Death". Their first headline tour is scheduled to visit 29 UK venues between September and October 2008. They played the New Band Stage on the Sunday of Oxegen 2008 before mingling with the crowds until their ferry left at 6 p.m.
The band have just finished their debut album in Belgium which has been provisionally titled "To Lose My Life Or Lose My Love", for release in January 2009.
The band's new single Death comes with remixes by Crystal Castles and Haunts.
