Showbox (쇼박스(주)미디어플렉스) is one of the largest film distribution companies in South Korea, founded in 2002. Showbox is the flim investment and distribution branch of Mediaplex, Inc., entertainment arm of Orion Group. It is a sister company of Megabox, the theater chain in Korea. Its main competitor for domestic box office is CJ Entertainment. Despite having very short history in the industry, they managed to have top 6 of 10 blockbusters in Korean box office history, number 1 being 2006's The Host and continues to have a series of hits.
