Kasımpaşa Spor Kulübü is a Turkish football club located in İstanbul, Turkey. They play their home games in Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium in Istanbul. The club was founded in 1921 as Altıntuğ.
On May 30, 2007, the team was promoted to the Turkcell Super Lig for the second time in their history. In the dramatic match against Altay SK, Kasımpaşa came from behind twice to force a penalty shootout, which they won 4-3.
They will compete in the Super Lig in the 2007-2008 season after three successive promotions from Third League, where is fourth level. Some circles argue that the reason of this sudden rise is the support of the government to the club.
