Questions about Evri

What can I find on Evri.com?

We've created profile pages for millions of topics. You'll find profiles on people, places, books, movies, companies, events, organizations, teams, products -- all kinds of stuff. And we're adding new ones all the time. You can find quick facts and summary information, as well as recommended articles, news, blog posts, photos, tweets, and videos. On each page, we'll also highlight the top connections for each topics, and make it easy to browse and discover more relevant information.

Where does Evri get its information?

We search the World Wide Web and gather content from as many highly regarded information sources as we can find, and we're adding more sources all the time. If you know of an information source we should mine, please let us know.

What is a Profile page?

Profile pages give you all the details we can find about a specific topic. You'll find biographies, dates and places, images, videos, tweets and more. Profile pages also recommend relevant content to explore based on connections between topics.

What does the "Recent Connections" picture represent?

On every profile page, you'll see a "Recent Connections" map that shows you the most relevant and current connections for the topic. The large central circle (or node) represents the profile you are on. The smaller nodes are its top connections. Clicking on any node will take you to a new profile page, and will highlight articles that showcase how the two are connected.

What happens if I use the "Follow this" or "Share" links?

On every profile page, you'll see a "Follow this" and "Share" link at the top of the page.

Use "Follow this" to keep track of your favorite topics. Evri Collections let you follow multiple things that you're interested in, and group them any way you see fit. You might follow a bunch of things related to your favorite company, movie, or city. You could also follow things related to a particular event or person. Once you start a collection, you can easily add to it (we'll even provide suggestions), add a description, change the name, and share it with others.

"Share" is an easy way to take any page (a profile page, or a collection) and send it to your friends or colleagues. You can also post it to other sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Digg.

I'm a web publisher/blogger. How can Evri help me?

There are a number of ways to make Evri's content recommendations available to users visiting your website.

Our widgets make recommendations based on the text in your article or blog post. Instead of using keywords, popularity, or other algorithms, our widgets identify each person, place, and thing mentioned, as well as the connections between them. It uses that knowledge to point your readers to other relevant content. Visit our Widget Gallery to learn more.

I'm a developer. Can I access your APIs?

Yes, the Evri API gives you programmatic access to Evri’s rich mapping of the entity web, or the web of people, places and things connected to one another via language itself. Most functionality seen on our website as well as that exposed via our widgets is based on the Evri API.
